Born in 1960 in Belgium, Dominique Degueldre studied at the royal academy of Beaux-Art in Brussels.
She stared her career in 2000 after wanting to tear away from the usual monotony of a routine life.
As such, she found painting to be her outlet.
Dominique started to paint inanimate objects. But soon, she forsakes them. Instead, she thought, explored and met with the word. The word imposes itself and as such she paints, and playfully glistens as she creates a subtle and secret universe. The word escapes, slides on the canvas, where it draws itself.
Then only the gesture of writing remains, repetitive and minimalist. From black and white to flashy colors that illuminate her art.
